Verified programs
- Must be an Alabama Power residential customer
- Residence must be a single-family home
- Must own or lease a battery electric vehicle (BEV) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV)
- Charger must be a new Level 2 (240V) EV charger on a dedicated circuit
- Only one charger rebate allowed per installation site
- Charger must be received within 90 days of application
- Documentation required: charger photo, serial number, proof of purchase
- Employer-owned lease requires a signed employer lease certification form
- Residential customer taking service under Rate FD, FD-D, RTA, or Rate RTA-Energy Only
- Must own or lease a qualifying plug-in electric vehicle (BEV or PHEV) with no fewer than four wheels, suitable for public road operation
- Electric motorcycles, golf carts, all-terrain and off-road vehicles do NOT qualify
- Must submit Company-approved documentation verifying possession of a qualifying PEV at the primary residence before service under the rider begins
- Applies to single residences and individual family apartments
- Term is one year and expires unless the customer renews with documentation verifying continuing eligibility
- Available in all areas served from the Company's interconnected system

Where the federal credit went
There is no federal EV charger tax credit for equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026. Section 30C was terminated by section 70504 of Public Law 119-21. Any quote or article that nets a federal credit against your cost today is out of date — which is most of them.
