Privacy Policy
We are a lead service. If you complete the estimate form, we pass the details you gave us — including your name, phone number and email address — to licensed EV charger installers who pay us for that introduction. Under California law that is a sale of personal information, and we say so rather than calling it something softer. This page explains exactly what we collect, exactly who receives it, and how to stop it.

The short version
Four things matter more than the rest of this page, so they go first.
- We do not install anything. We are not an electrical contractor. We publish cost, rebate and permit records, and we introduce you to installers.
- If you submit the estimate form, your contact details go to installers who pay us a fixed fee for the introduction. The form names them before you submit. Nobody who is not named on that list receives your information.
- A residential job is sent to no more than three installers. A commercial or multifamily project is sent to one.
- You can withdraw consent at any time by any reasonable method, including replying STOP to a text or emailing privacy@evchargegrid.com. We act on it within ten business days at the outside, and usually the same day.
Who we are
EV Charge Grid is operated by EV Charge Grid LLC. This policy covers https://www.evchargegrid.com and any subdomain of it. To reach a human about anything on this page, email privacy@evchargegrid.com. That mailbox is monitored.
What we collect
We collect four separate categories, and they are worth keeping distinct because they carry very different consequences.

We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, date of birth, financial account numbers, government ID, or any health information. If you type one of those into a free-text field anyway, we delete it.
Why we keep the consent record, and for how long
When you check the consent box we store the exact sentence you saw, with the installer names already filled in — not a reference to a template. Federal telemarketing rules require us to keep a copy of the consent as it was presented to you, and to keep it for five years. That record is what proves you agreed to be contacted, what you agreed to, and by whom. We keep it for at least five years from the last time anyone contacted you, and we keep it even if you later revoke consent, because a record of revocation is only meaningful alongside the record of what was revoked.
Who receives your information
This is the section most privacy policies bury. Ours is the point of the service.
- Installers. Licensed, insured EV charger installers who serve your ZIP code and who pay us a fixed fee per introduction. They are named on the form before you submit. The stored consent record is also the allowlist: our system cannot send your details to a company that was not named to you.
- Service providers. Companies that host the site, send our email and text messages, and store our data — acting on our instructions and not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.
- Legal. Where we are required by law, subpoena or court order, or where necessary to investigate fraud or protect someone's safety.
- A successor. If the business is sold or merged, subject to this policy continuing to apply.
We do not sell your information to data brokers, list brokers, or anyone else outside the installers named in your consent. We do not permit installers to resell it — their contract with us forbids it, and requires them to honor your revocation and report it back to us.
How you may be contacted, and how to stop it
By checking the consent box you agree that we and the named installers may contact you at the number and email you gave us, including by automated or AI-assisted calls, prerecorded or artificial voice messages, and text messages, about EV charger installation. We name automated and AI-assisted calls specifically because the FCC treats an AI-generated voice as an artificial voice, which requires your express written consent.
- Your consent applies to the phone number you gave it for. It does not transfer to a different number you supply later.
- You can revoke by any reasonable method. Replying STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE to a text always works, and so does an email to privacy@evchargegrid.com or a phone call.
- Revocation is honored within ten business days at the outside. We add you to a suppression list that is checked before every message, every installer notification and every call.
- Revoking with us also tells the installers who received your details to stop. We are obligated to pass it on and they are obligated to honor it. If one keeps calling after you have revoked, tell us and we will act on it.
- Consent is not a condition of anything. You can read every page on this site, including every cost and rebate record, without giving us your contact details.
Your rights in California
Because we transfer your contact details to installers who pay us, what we do is a sale of personal information under the CCPA — and it is also sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising if you arrived through an ad. Californians have the following rights, and we do not discriminate against anyone who exercises them.
- Know what we have collected about you, where it came from, why, and who received it.
- Delete what we hold, subject to the five-year consent-record retention described above, which federal rule requires us to keep.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of sale or sharing. Email privacy@evchargegrid.com with the subject line Do Not Sell My Info. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect any, so there is nothing to limit.
- Appoint an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Requests go to privacy@evchargegrid.com. We verify identity before acting, and respond within forty-five days, extendable once where a request is genuinely complex.
Your rights elsewhere
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have comparable rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data, along with a right to appeal a refused request. Use the same address, privacy@evchargegrid.com, and tell us which state you are in. We apply the protections in this policy nationwide rather than gating them by residence, so in practice you do not have to argue about which statute covers you.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies to keep the estimate form working across steps and to measure which pages people find useful. We do not run third-party advertising trackers and we do not build behavioral profiles for sale. You can block cookies in your browser; if you do, the estimate form may not carry your answers between steps.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to people who need it, and consent records are stored append-only so they cannot be quietly altered after the fact. No system is perfect and we will not claim otherwise. If we ever suffer a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Children
This service is for adults arranging electrical work on property they own or manage. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we share your information, we update the Last updated date and, where the change is material, say so on the page rather than relying on you to diff it. Changes are not retroactive: the consent you gave governs what is done with the information you gave under it.
