- Charger installed by a licensed/ICC-certified electrician
- MUST enroll in and maintain, for a minimum of three years, one of: ComEd Hourly Pricing, ComEd Delivery Time-of-Day delivery rate, or a time-variant supply rate from an Alternative Retail Electric Supplier
- Application must be submitted within 90 calendar days of completed installation
- ComEd residential customer enrolled in Hourly Pricing (free to join, no cost to switch)
- EV owner shifts charging to the 1-5 a.m. window to realize the reported savings
- Enrollment in Hourly Pricing (or an equivalent time-variant rate) is also the mandatory precondition for the Residential EV Charger and Installation Rebate (il-comed-residential-ev-charger-rebate)

Where the federal credit went
There is no federal EV charger tax credit for equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026. Section 30C was terminated by section 70504 of Public Law 119-21. Any quote or article that nets a federal credit against your cost today is out of date — which is most of them.
