Each of these is money Eversource publishes with a condition attached, and the condition is the part that decides whether the figure is available to you at all. None of it is charger money. Nothing here is added to the amounts above, or to each other.
Four tiers apply, by household type and Environmental Justice-community location: $700 for a single household on the Standard Rate, $1,000 for a single household in a Massachusetts-designated Environmental Justice community, $1,400 for a shared charger in a 2-4 unit building on the Standard Rate, and $2,000 for a shared charger in a 2-4 unit building in an Environmental Justice community. Since March 2, 2026, enrollment in Eversource's Managed Charging program is required to receive any of these amounts.

Income-qualified only. Enrollment in Eversource's Discount Rate (Massachusetts low-income electric rate tariff). Eversource's own page ties the higher $1,700/$2,700 combined cap to 'Discount Rate' customers specifically, which is Eversource's income-qualified low-income rate tariff, not a separate application-level income test administered by this rebate itself.

Where the federal credit went
There is no federal EV charger tax credit for equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026. Section 30C was terminated by section 70504 of Public Law 119-21. Any quote or article that nets a federal credit against your cost today is out of date — which is most of them.
