Verified programs
- Central Hudson residential electric customer who owns or leases an eligible EV, provides the VIN
- Opt-in; minimum 12-month term of service, cannot switch back early
- Whole Home option converts the entire residential electric account to time-based billing; Separate Meter option requires a dedicated EV charging meter and forfeits first-year bill protection
- Central Hudson residential customer
- Own or lease an eligible device (EV or eligible networked charger) per the program's device list
- Must not be enrolled in Central Hudson's Whole Home or EV Only TOU Rate to earn the base ChargeSmart incentives (Peak Perks remains available to TOU-enrolled customers)

Where the federal credit went
There is no federal EV charger tax credit for equipment placed in service after June 30, 2026. Section 30C was terminated by section 70504 of Public Law 119-21. Any quote or article that nets a federal credit against your cost today is out of date — which is most of them.
